How often should you detail your car in Florida?
In most of the country, the usual advice is a full detail twice a year. Central Florida is harder on cars than most places, so that rule doesn't really hold here. Strong UV, heavy pollen in spring, two lovebug seasons, daily summer storms and sand from beach weekends all wear down paint and interiors faster.
A simple schedule that works here
| What | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Exterior wash | Every 1–2 weeks | Pollen, bugs and bird droppings bake into paint in the sun |
| Interior detail | Every 1–3 months | Sand and crumbs grind into carpet; UV dries out leather and dashboards |
| Full detail | Every 3–4 months | A complete reset, inside and out |
| Paint sealant | Every 4–6 months | Your paint's sunscreen; it wears faster in Florida heat |
| Ceramic coating | Once, then upkeep | Years of protection with regular maintenance washes |
Signs your car needs a detail now
- Water stops beading on the hood. Your protection has worn off.
- The paint feels rough when you run your hand over it (inside a plastic sandwich bag, you'll feel it). That's bonded contamination; a clay bar treatment removes it.
- A smell that won't leave, often from spilled drinks, gym clothes or damp carpet after a storm.
- The dashboard looks dull or chalky. UV damage is starting.
- Sand in the seat rails after a beach trip. It scratches and wears down upholstery.
The easy way: a maintenance plan. We come back every 2 or 4 weeks at a lower price, so your car never gets past "a little dusty".
Tips between details
- Park in shade or use a windshield sun shade. It saves your dashboard.
- Rinse off bird droppings and lovebugs within a day or two.
- Keep a microfiber towel and quick detailer spray in the trunk.
- Use rubber floor mats in rainy season and shake them out weekly.
